Cleaning throttle body 2006 Silverado
2006 Silverado LT 4WD 5.3L 93k miles
Is it possible to open the throttle body air inlet valve while the motor is running to spray cleaner into the throttle body? Is this practice still a method to clean the throttle body? I see the throttle body is not mechanically linked to the gas pedal; it looks like it is motor driven or something. I tried to push the valve open but it would not open. I didn't want to force it open and break something.
Thanks

its electronically controlled
turn the key to ACC (last click before you turn on engine) and put something on the gas pedal to open up the throttle body and do your cleaning,
be aware though that the cleaner will thin your oil a bit and will cause a hard to start after all that stuff goes into your intake
