Default Creaking steering noise

Hello,
I have a creaking sound coming from inside the cab while turning at slow speeds. It has no performance issues just annoying. I think the steering column is rubbing on the housing of a bearing needs lubed. Any input would be great.

Thanks,
Tom

It could still be squeaking from outside the truck. Check your steering linkages, grease the frond end and see what happens.

There is a known problem that has your symptoms. I have the same thing on my 2003, but have not done anything about it.

Here is the GM service bulletin: tsb# 00-02-35-003n
There is lots of info about it on the 'net.

Thanks for all the replies, as soon as the temp drops under 100°F I'll take a closer look and fix the problem.
