Default crossmember on 2500HD cracks on rear sides

I have a 2002 2500HD 4x4 and on the crossmember that the torsion bars are held in at there are cracks that run directly through the mounting bolts on the back side of the crossmember on both driver and passenger sides. is this common? should i just remove and weld the cracks or just find an upgraded crossmember from an off road warehouse? the truck has a 8" lift with 35" tires.

I would find a HD cross member..or weld a piece of metal over the cracks to help reinforce it

thanks, i ended up taking it completely off. once i got the torsion bars taken out, the crossmember shook like a baby rattle. the end tabs on the rear just fell off. so i welded everything back together and covered it to prevent rust and put it all back together and is still holding strong.
