Default Did I screw myself on this?

I bought the K&N FIPK2 intake kit for my truck n Friday, picked it up this morning when I got off of duty. When I opened it up, the instructions said that it was not designed for vehicles with body lifts. I have a 3" body lift. Is this going to require timing or alterations to the system? 97 k1500 z71 5.7L

Thank You

When you lift the body off the frame the engin hight stays the same. With the FIPK you have to bolt the box to the fender which is now higher then the engin or at least higher then the stock position. Im not sure what you could to do fix it but im sure there is some way to rig it up to work. you might just have to drill a new hole in the fender well for the bolt.

You MIGHT have to modify it to work, but honestly, it just not going to sit the same way it would if your truck was stock, it will still function the same.

So do I try to install it anyway? Or wait for K&N input?

I don't know...the last time I did something without thinking, it involved a bonfire and a hatchet. Needless to say, I now have the back of a hatchet branded into my arm lol.

It's too late to start now, and I should have K&N's response tomorrow (hopefully).

Thanks for the advice.
