Door Speakers

Door Speakers
Have any of you stereo guys out there figured out how/why the door speakers in some of the later trucks just stop working altogether? They look to be fine, but won't make a sound. I would expect to see a broken cone lead or solder, but it all looks to be in great shape. I have come across 2 of these lately. You can put in a new speaker and it works so it is definitely not the radio. I have installed 100s of stereos and this one makes me scratch my head. You would think the speaker would still make noise, but just be distorted right? Is it possible that somehow the soldered connection isn't allowing the signal to pass through? Any idea's???

No there isn't a capacitor, but curiosity got the best of me so I dug the old speaker out of the garbage to check it out. What I found was there is a huge amount of resistance between where the cone lead is soldered to the cone and the rest of the lead. I compared it to a known good speaker and the reading was way high on one side and actually zero continuity on the other side. So I guess that answers my question of rather they can be repaired or not. That is a big ole NEGATIVE! You never know right?!?!?
