drivetrain problems in silverados solved !
An "OLDSKOOL" mechanic has told me that if you have a clunk in the drivetrain, going from p to r, or as you accel from a dead stop, or any other gears for that matter, that it's the lash that these chevys are suppose to have as designed. Chevy sells a kit to stop so mush lash, causeing the clunk. Or, you can cheat ! This oldskool mechanic told me to remove the drive shaft, and at the tranny side, where it's hollow, and slips over the tranny shaft, or into the tranny, and over the shaft, get yerself a rubber bouncy ball the same size as the inside diameter. Push the rubber bouncy ball "ALL" the way into the end of that hollow tube at the end of yer drive shaft. That will take away the lash in most trucks (4x4), but not all. Well it works . There is no more clunks, and the performance of the truck is actually better. Hmmmmm............ imagine that. Someone has figured a way to cheat the system. So, if ya gotta clunk, spend that .25 cents on that gum ball machine bouncy ball, and spend a 1/2 hour of labor, to fix that pride you call yer chevy! You can also find this info. at www.alldatapro.com . Holla if ya need more help along the way.

That's quite interesting indeed although for some reason, my truck used to have a real bad jerking sound, but I solved that one by getting rear brakes... The rears weren't touching and every time I put it in gear it would jerk the entire truck around.
Is this just for the 99-07 Pickups or is it all?
