I have a 2004 silverado with the 6.0 engine. Im looking for an electric fan but dont know much about them. I also will be doing some towing. Any ideas on what would be the best fan for towing application and ofcourse some more hp. Thanx

 

You'll need at least 4500 cfm. You can use an LS1 dual fan set up, but for a 6.0 thats gonna be used for towing, I'd go with an aftermarket set-up. This can be done with two 16" fans and a dual fan controller with an A/C relay. It will run you around $300 bucks for good fans and parts. Either that or buy something like the $500+ kit from Flex-a-Lite. Here are some kits on Summit:

What is cfm? I like those fans from summit. It sounds like if i buy everything seperate and make custom mounts it would come out cheaper and get the same out of it as buying one from summit. Where is the best place to buy the fans?

 

cfm is a measure of airflow... cubic feet per minute i think

 

Compare prices between summit and jegs. If one is lower than the other the higher will usually beat the other price and they both offer free shipping.
