my friend had 2 engines a 305 from a 84 gm pickup thats scrapped, and a 82' 350 in his truck, the truck needs a valve job but the 305 heads are ok....are the runners and valves the same size, i mean can he use the 305 heads on his truck while we rebuild the 350 heads?

well i sorta screwed that up...wat i meant to say was can the 305 heads be rebuilt and replace the 350 heads alltogether withour port and polishing them to make them equal flowing

Compression issues are my first thought....1 is enough.....I'm to busy thinking about the thread title.

87-95 heads have a canted sytle center bolts holes and the 96 vortec has less bolt intake bolt holes and higher runners. So you would have to switch intakes. If it is carbureted the Edelbrock part # is 2115 for the performer manilfold and GM Perf # is 12366573
