Hey all, i aslo have a question, ive go a 04 chevy 1500 that im doin headers and exhaust, but i do not want the x pipe because i dont want to quiet the system but there is still the option of an H pipe. Do i have to joint them at all?? can i just go true duels seporatly all the way to the back. will that not run right or what will be the cause/effects?

The purpose of an H or X is to balance the backpressure on both sides of the motor. True duals can result in an eratic torque curve. For peak performance you will need an H or X (X works better). There may be other issues that arise because of the electronic components of the vehicle.

white_noyez - The x-pipe should not quiet your system. I have one and mine sounds good. I do not recommend true duals though. These engines need more backpressure than that. The H-pipe will not remove as much backpressure as the X-pipe though. If you really want true duals, then do the h-pipe. If you don't join them, it sounds funny, like 2 4-bangers having a war. You will be much better off with a single in dual out setup. I have had to add reducers to the end of my pipes to get lowend back, and I have already gained .4 sec due to the reducers, so who knows if I had done single in dual out.

I was really impressed. I have the smooth bore, and it has been one of the best gais for cost. The only mod better for cost so far was the reprogram. I would recommend it. Faster throttle response, slight milage increase, 0-60 better.
I was a disbeliever before.

From everyone I have talked to, the one with twists is supposed to be slightly better. I am not sure personally. If I was to buy a new one today, I would get the twist one. But it does make a whistling noise, which may be annoying.
