Default Exhaust Manifold bolt access

Hi, I have a 90 GMC dually with the 5.7, and I am in the process of replacing the driver's side exhaust manifold. The forward two bolts are actually studs with an accessory bracket mounted between nuts on the studs. I can not figure out how to remove the bracket to access the last two nuts. The bracket supports the alternator and, I think, the power steering fluid resevoir. The nut that I can not get to is in the lower portion and appears to be attached to the resevoir. Does anyone have a suggestion before I sawz-all it?

Thanks

This is a 350?

Its tuff to get just that bracket off....I think its intended for you to remove the p/s pump, with the bracket attatched to it.

I'm sure it can be done, though.

Thanks Argon,

I checked the other bolts and it looks like I've got to pull the belt, pull a pulley and maybe be able to get the second mounting bolts. Still not sure, though.

Yeah,I'd pull the pulley...then the bolts...The good part is you don't have to REMOVE it,just move it outta the way a bit

Hi, i also have a 90 sierra with a 5.7 and EVERYTHING needs to be replaced in terms of exhaust. Is it possible to have a nice sounding exhaust without spending tons of money? Also, if that's not realistic, any suggestions on what I should go with?

any and all responses welcome
thanks

perron_ts:

What i did to my truck is remove all pipebefore the catalytic converter offand take a 4 foot straight pipe into a cherrybomb and off the other side another piece of 4ft straight out the end with a 90 degree pipe, it sounds very good at idle and pretty mean when u hit it. its very cheap, as long as you have a welder and a few clamps your good to go and it only takes about an hour tops. after you have your straight pipe welded together
