Default exhaust question....

Howdy all. Newbie here to this forum...oldie everywhere else!!

I have a 05 Silverado CC with the 5.3 in it....84k on the clock. When I got it, I put on a Flowmaster dual system here at the muffler shop in town. I'm not sure what series it is...it's not too loud but you hear it. I'm getting tired of hearing it and wanna quiet it back down. It seems like there is a "lull" if you will in the cab at certain speeds. Makes it harder to hear on phone, radio whatever.

What would be my best option for doing this?? I'm not sure if my mileage got better or worse when I FM'd it....but I think a little better. I don't want to make my mileage worse if I can help it!!

Thanks all!!

If you're asking how to get rid of the drone, you can just try different brands. Borla makes an affordable line (ProXS). Magnaflows are nice. Those are the two I would consider.

Well..not just the drone so much...but also to make it a little quieter in general. Thanks.

I would still recommend both of those. I have some sound clips on LS1truck, but it was a built motor - so probably a bit louder than yours would be.

you could try getting a resonator installed... they supposedly eliminate drone in the cab and make the exhaust quieter too... almost like an extra muffler

You could keep the exhuast and install soundmatting inside the cab. it helps keep all the sounds inside the cab inside and all the sounds outside the cab outside. very nice

I second the idea with the sound-proofing material. It will make the truck VERY quiet, if done correctly will eliminate road noise and vibrations too. I did it on my Nissan and it was damn near silent in the damn things with the windows up, and the stereo sounded better too.
