exhaust suggestions
I own a 97 chevy thunder with a 4.3 vortec. ive swapped the stock muffler for a cherry bomb vortex and it sounds decent, but its not loud enough and i know it could sound better. unfortunatley im a college student so i dont have wads of cash to throw around, but i have some. it would be easy enough to run true duels, but im looking for suggestions on what i should do, and what i should purchase. im not a gear head so i dont know too much, but id like some help. thanks

I had a '95 C1500 W/T that I bought new and put 190K on. It had the 4.3 with homemade CAI, TBS, pulleys, and a simple 3" cat-back with a 2-chamber Flowmaster, then a 90* dumping right in front of the pass side rear tire. Sounded great, was cheap, local shop did it, and didn't resonate on the highway. Your motor is a little different and a little more power but I would expect it to do well with just CAI, pulleys and the Flowmaster I described. If you have auto, do a street/strip shift kit. My truck wasn't the fastest but it was fun and ran great for what it was. 20mpg all the time. RT
