Extended Service Contract : is it needed?

RE: Extended Service Contract : is it needed?
Crap shoot is right. I lost mine. I had the 3 year 36K. My rear went at 40K, but the dealer helped me bitch to Chevy and got them to cover it. The rear went again at 80K, that time it was on me to the tune of $1,500. Then I had to replace the tranny at about 110K, another couple grand. So, for me the extended warranty would have been a good bet. Very hadr to say.

Is it for your 09 truck? If so whats the extention to. It already has 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain. Aslo if it where me i would save the $2000 and if something breaks then you have the money to use. If not then you have $2000 for your truck later on down the road.

My extended warranty only cost me 850.00 with a 0 deductible, but it only covered to 75,000 miles. It covered everything that the bumper to bumper warranty covered from the dealership. And like I told the guy if this truck even makes afunny sound I will be back. And I didreturn over and over again. They knew me by first name: Yes sir Mr. Aaron. Now that it is up I run by to ask a question every now and then and they still remember me...lo, I do not know if that is good or bad, but what the Hecky...lol
It is a tough call: spend it on the extended warranty and it covers the other stuff not under the powertrain100,000 mile warranty or save the $ and buy other stuffsuch as upgrades or on the principle of the truck balance... hhhhmmmm tough call... What to spend the $ on it is all so tempting.Well I do not know what to tell you.

I purchased an extended warranty one time, but it wasn't worth it. The problems that they originally said they would cover, ended up not being covered [:@]
If you do go with an extended warranty, many people suggest looking into 3rd party warranties. The dealer markup is high on warranties.
