Default Fan Clutch Help

Anyone know the best way to take off a belt driven fan on a 99 - 2000 5.3 liter truck? Could putting it in gear (automatic) keep the pulleys from spinning while I try and crank the fan clutch off? Any help would be great.

The correct way is a tool...with 2 pins that fits into 2 small holes in the pulley to hold her...that,or try to hold it with a prybar or something

I returned the eletric fans anyway, but thanks for the info. Even if I got the clutch and fan off, the electric fans wouldn't fit right without a shroud. I could make one but thats alot of pissing around that I don't have time to do. If I ever find one that will work without a shroud, you better believe thatthey are going on.
