My son just bought a 2003 Sierra 2500HD. Within 24 hrs passenger side power window quits using either the drivers button or passenger button. Got stuck in the down position. Took a while but managed to get it back up by hand and secure it there. Any tips on removing inner panel to get a look see inside the door to see what's going on. No noise or anything when buttons are activated so my guess is the motor but I obviously need to get a look. Best way to remove the inner panel? Anything I should get ahead of time like replacement clips to reattach the panel?

Before you take the door panels apart, check the jumper harness in the drivers side door. It is the main electrical harness that goes to all the switches in the door, and with the years of opening and closing, the wires break. I have often seen just a broken wire or 2 completely shut down all your door lock and window controls. This is a common problem.

nothing to special about taking the panels off.. just look for screws (door handle) and peices that pop off (piece around the door handle, window switch cluster). once you have it off if I remember correctly its only 4 bolts, maybe 6 at most in plain sight that you unscrew to take the power window regulator out, replacement is an easy task and a new one costs less than a $100

There should be a scew going up from the bottom of the door panel also. Then 2 more - one is uncovered and right by the arm rest and the other is behind the door switches. You also have to pull the cover from directly behind the side view mirror off. Once all is out of the way grab it by the arm rest and pull straight up. It has a series of hooks going down into the door. Be careful because once it is loose you have to unplug the wire going to the tweeter and the wire going to the red light at the bottom of the door. Then your free sailing! It is actually ALOT easier than earlier years. I just replaced my motor and regulator on my 2002 and it was pretty simple. Let me know if you want me to walk you through it. Good Luck!

Welcome to the forum. I think you get the strangest username of the day award....haha

Anyway I second Shamrock on that. You have to watch the one under the armrest, you can easily scratch your panel getting that one out. You need a pretty narrow screwdriver/nutdriver
