Flat black paint job = Hotness.

Flat black paint job = Hotness.
I conjecture that I'm the only person on this forum young enough to watch MTV, and in saying that I feel an explaination of what I'm trying to accomplish here is not only called for, but downright neccesary.
There is a show on MTV named 'Rob & Big'. The whole point of the show is irrelevent to the topic, but there is a vehicle that is featured on the show that has caught my attention. The vehicle I'm refering to is an 07 Chevy Tahoe that has been 'murdered out'.
The entire truck has been repainted a flat black color with a satin finish. It looks as tough and as durable as an M-1 Abrams main battle tank. Even all the trim pieces, such as weather stripping, grill, wheels, have been painted with this sexy color.
That got me thinking:
My truck's paint is 13 years old and, as far as I can tell, in pretty good shape considering it's age. The thought has passed through my sick and convoluted mind to get my truck completely refinished with this type of covering.
I have attached a picture of aPorsche GTwhich has undergone this process.
I would like your comments.

RE: Flat black paint job = Hotness.
I would do it on a truck older than mine, like the boxier 90's trucks. I just don't think it looks as cool on the newer trucks. Like the Tahoe in the picture. Just looks like a half *** repair/repaint on a newer vehicle. But anything 30s up to a 98 I'd say hell yeah.

ya i love flat black on older cars and trucks. but i'm not too big on the newer styled stuff. flat black goes good with sharp edges and box styled stuff. looks great on a 65 gto.
what year is your truck anyways?

I have a friend with a fully restored 60' Cadillac and he painted it flat black. That thing looks sick, and it's a police deterrant because it keeps your vehicle from sticking out. However I would NEVER paint my 03 Sierra flat black. If anything I want it even glossier.

I always loved shiny black glossy perfect paint, but the reality of it being such a bitch to keep clean and looking good is kind of a big deterrent.
My vette was black, my M5 was black... They were awesome, but such a bitch.
Since I've got a boxy style truck, I think it would just ooze hotness if it was painted exactly like that BMW in the picture. The way the light hits it, it just seems to absorb more light than it reflects. Very 'Batmobiley', and just stealthy.
There's no half assing it either though. If I decide to go through with it, every bit of that truck will be a dull satin finish. No chrome (I hate chrome), no exposed black plastic, no brushed aluminum rims... just black.
Gonna be a giant project.
Here's a picture of what I'm starting with. Major Silva hasn't had a bath in 8 months, so don't give me any ****.
