I just bought a 93 GMC Sierra 5.7 with 5 speed standard trans and was told that the four wheel drive works but only the light did not work. Turns out nothing works. Is there a fuse for it that I can try first or which switch would you suspect? There appears to be two, one on the front axle and one on the transfer case. The transfer case shift lever works through the positions easily.

i bought mine like 2 days ago with the service 4WD light on. I swapped the switch from my old truck to the new one and it works perfectly now

 

Which switch? There are two and I don't know what each one controls and the 4 wheel drive light doesn't work either.

and the light not being on could be caused by a bad switch

the one in my truck the light wasnt on either and it was 1 single unit. (i have a 99 silverado)
