Default Getting Rid Of Noises

hey guys... im sure that you have all had this before.

whenever i start up my truck outside and it has been sitting for a while, there is a disgusting [:'(]whistle coming from the belts and bearings running off the engine. is there any cheap way to get rid of this??? im thinking good Ol' WD-40 will fix it but do you guys have any other solutions that will be a little more permanent??
it seems like the whistling goes away once the vehicle is a little warmed up!
thanks again guys!

Argon said something about a grease packet being placed on a pully so when youstart it up and let it warm up the grease moves throughout the belts and pullies to quiet them. Make sure you don't just need a new belt first. If it still makes noise and you think its the pullies, I have no idea on how to fix that.

Check the pullies for movement (other than what is sapposed to be there), you will need to take the belt(s) off and grab them and spin them, if one is making a sound or side movement you have your trouble one. I think that my AC pump is throwinga bearing, it makes one hell of a squeel when I start it after a day or two of not running.

I learned a cheap trick tonight as well. If you suspect it's just the belt itself making the racket you can press a candle against the ribs of the belt while it's idleing and allow the wax to rub against the belt real firm and the noise will go away. Ofcourse it comes back after the wax wears off but still a neat quick fix.
