is it all your lights? or just the headlights?...........check the sensor and make sure it is not covered up with anything on the dash.

Yeah that sensor that looks like a nipple on the dash near the windshield is the sensor.

Default DRL Sensor

My '03 had the same problem when i bought it. Finally after looking at other trucks, realized the sensor had fell down inside. The salesman that sold me the truck actually payed out of his own pockets to fix/retrieve the sensor, and it has worked great since.

Its a 2000 sierra and the daytime bubs are good and all the lights come on like its dark and I have cleaned the sensor. Am afraid that I am going to have to take the dash apart and replace the sensor.
