Default Granatelli MAF & Volant CAI

Just letting you all know, I haven't had time to take more than a little ride but what I did feel was a great difference. I installed the Granatelli MAF and a New Volant CAI. The volant looks and sounds great. I got the snorkel for it but didn't have time to put it on yet. But honestly I would buy the MAF and CAI all over again. My truck is an 07 Classic 4x4 ecsb with a 4.8 liter. Throttle response is what I noticed immediately. A lot less lag time to get the truck moving. I also noticed gains in the mid and top end range. I mean power, not gobs and gobs of it but it will certainly go a lot better when I punch it at around 70mph. Very well worth the buy in my opinion.

Were they worth it? So far 98% of the people I've asked have said that the shorties don't do anything for our trucks. I would rather have the shorties cause then I could put them on myself but I'm still kicking the idea around of buying LTs and having an exhaust shop hook em up for me.

Hard to say whether they were worth it. You aren't going to notice huge gains out of putting on headers. My truck sounds a little bit more punchy. I would think long tubes would make it sound a little more throaty. Ever since I have put on the Volant it has livened up my muffler. I can actually here it a little bit at idle. At WOT it sounds kick ***. I would think the headers would work great with all of the mods u have already though.

I really wanna get some but so far your the only one who has actually recommended them. Everyone else has told me you won't notice any gains at all from shorties. It would be really nice to buy them, dyno it to see if they help, and send em back if they don't. Course that would be expensive and they probably wouldn't take them back after I've had them on the truck at WOT, LOL!

I have the edlebrock shorties and I know they gave me more high end power, how much though I am not sure. I don't think they helped low end at all. I just need to get more air in there.

Well bottom line is buy the headers that u want. I bought mine cuz they were the only legal headers I could get. Well with a CARB# anyways.
