Default header question

when i rebuilt my engine last summer, i bought the semi-cheap summit headers. the pipes coming off of the exhaust ports are REALLLLLLY short and its hard to work on the plugs and kinda melts the wires.

1. is it worth wrapping the top of the headers with heat wrap to prevent the melting of wires

2. does anyone know of buying a header extension taht goes between the block and the header flange. its should be about 1 inch thick?

You might want to upgrade to so long tube headers. By the looks of your mods I think youll get allot out of them. By the way what size torque converter are you running?

You could just put some heat shields on the plug wires. About $50 for a set.
