Default Heater control problem, I'M STUMPED

04 silverado 2500hd, problem is I cannot get the air to stop blowing out of the defrosters, will not change to the floor or the vents, everything works fine just can't change air direction, it had the recall done for the blower motor, checked all connections, any ideas on what else to check, I am ready to set this thing on fire, between this problem and the code po300 I am at the end of my rope..... thanks.

Try this actuator recalibration procedure.
With the ignition switch in the on position, remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for a minimum of 10 seconds. This fuse is located in the under hood fuse/relay box.
Re-install the HVAC/ECAS fuse.
Start the vehicle.
Wait 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate

Try this..... it SHOULD work
This is a common problem after the battery has been disconnected.
