i have a chevy silverado 03 v8 5.3L my truck occasionally will not start(crank) i have checked the fuses, battery, starter, alternator, i have paid twice to have it towed to a shop, every time the shop receives it they tell me the truck starts fine and the diagnostics will not find the problem when the truck appears to be starting and running properly. Of course they dont fail to charge me. help anyone? before i buy a import!

thx for the intrest. there is no codes, no engine light , and the computer has no history. i am not a mechanic, what i have read mostly online suggests it may be the prindell switch or the ignition control module. I may attempt to remove the control module and bring it in to have it tested, if i can find it.

Is it cranking at all when it doesn't start? If not - Is there a chip in the key? Possibly try different key with chip.
