Default Help out on tuners aka programmers

So I'm in the market to get a tuner/programmer for my 03 5.3L Sierra. I'm kinda in this bubble on what i want to get.. I could use input on this on which one is the BEST. My buddy has the Hypertech maxenergy on his truck and he likes it, but was wondering if there is a REALLY great one out there or if the maxenergy is the best one? I'm all ears( well eyes since I'm reading) lets hear what you have to say.

EFI live.com Buy your own hardware and software and do it yourself. And a laptop of course. Lets say you do the tune now. Then later you add a cam and bigger injectors. You have the tools to retune for that. Cost's bout 600 bucks. Thats the best way. Just study the tables and numbers. OR you can adjust it online and then download it and install it to ur truck.

i thought of doing something like that, but i dont wanna screw anything up with it. ya know? i can wrench on a truck, but when it comes to the PCM or ECM I'm not going to even try to do anything. im more about a plug and play. Hey thanks for the option though

I got a Jet programmer. It was very easy to use just plug in and Y or N to the questions and poof its done. It made a huge difference.

my dad got the bully dog triple dog for his 6.0 chevy. Not bad. Runs really good. Not huge difference in mileage. I'm sure its cause of his lead foot.

I asked around campared hypertech max energy, jet, superchips, diablo, and bully dog. the bully dog came out ahead. I asked many people, even you all. when its in( shipping tomorrow) Ill get a video for you guys and post the link on here to your tube.

Amazingly enough i picked it up BRAND NEW off ebay for 250. i coned the guy down from 325 to that, with FREE shipping. so im pretty happy.

Best way is to mark a chalk mark on the sidewall of the rear tire right at 6 o'clock where the pavement meets the tire in the middle. Also mark the pavement too, like lining up the marks on the timing gears. Then have someone roll the truck either way and let the tire make one revolution till the mark is back at 6 o'clock. Mark the pavement there. Now take a tape measure and find the distance between the two marks and that should be what u put in the tuner.
