Default Hesitation after warming up

OK guys.. I got rearended a few days ago. The truck ran fine on the way home until I got out of town on the highway, then I noticed that when I pushed down on the gas it wouldn't drop a gear or speed up.. The RPM gauge was slightly bouncing, but it wouldn't drop out of overdrive. I stopped a red light and the truck seemed to idle just fine. But I dropped into 1st, then 2nd manually and it would hesitate when I gave it hard gas.. Didn't sound like an engine problem, but might be. I disconnected the battery when I got home and took it for a drive.. The problem didn't occur, but later that night I took a long drive to a kids ballgame and the problem came back just the same.. Seems like after it warms up real good.

Any ideas? I am still dealing with the insurance company, and they may not pay for the damage. I may have to fix this myself.

stick it to the insurance company. tell them you are getting a lawyer. then refuse to drive your truck and demand a rent car at their expense. after all by the way by law you getting rear-ended makes it their fault by law.

Actually.. the man that hit me died, and if they determine that he had a heart attack or something they say it is not his neglegence, and they won't pay. Since I only carry liability then my insurance won't pay for it either. So I may get screwed on the repairs. I guess it would be a no fault accident.

then you find out all you can about the guy and see if his condition allowed him to drive. medications, previous heart troublesetc...also did he have the heart atteck before the accident or was it caused by the accident. i hate to say it, but there are always loop holes and insurance companies, lawyers are always using them to their advantage.

It's sad the man died, but the insurance company is wrong. He was at fault because he hit you, regardless of the reason.

Most states have acommission to file complaints regarding insurance companies refusing to pay. Ask your company for the number and address

If the guy was old blame the DOT, they shouldn't have been allowing him to drive in old age and bad health.

How bad was the damage toy your truck? It kind of sounds like the EVAP thing near your gas tank.
