Default Hesitation on Chevy Silverado

Hey Folks - I'm new here, and just wanted to share a problem that I've been having with my truck as of late. I figured hopefully somebody can give me some insight as to what it is.

My truck is a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 5.3L V8

A couple of weeks ago I had a problem to wear my truck began to cough, sputter, and eventually die out before I pulled over started it back up went a little further and eventually do it to me again. Well in the end I changed the fuel pump and my problem seemed to be solved.

After putting about 300 miles on it since the truck has began to start hesitating on me again like last time, just this time it isn't as severe yet. It is like it is getting lack of fuel, or misfiring, etc. The service engine light is not on.

Any idea what it could be?

i would check your injectors. they could be part of the problem, also fuel pump relay could be going bad.check plugs, check for a cracked distributor cap hope this helps let me know

As far as the Service Engine light, stop by Advance auto or Auto Zone if one is near you, they do an analysis for free. Still might not exactly pinpoint just one thing but a host of possibles. I think like most posts here it's your fuel filter clogging up. After replaceing that run some Lucas injector cleaner in your gas. I've solved a few problems in the past by also running the **** out of the vehicle to clean it out good but don't blow the motor if you do! Good luck.

Here is a TSB that addresses what seems to be your problem.
1.) TSB #01470 -- ERRATIC IDLE, IDLE SURGE, ROUGH RUN, OR NEAR STALL. *TT (NHTSA ID #10004413, JANUARY 01 2000)

Okay, DO NOT get under the hood of your 99 5.3 and try to find a distributer, you WILL NOT find one, they are run on coil packs, but I would get those checked out, in addition to the spark plugs, also, have the injectors cleaned...
