How To flush
#2
When I did mine I disconnected the bottom hose on the passenger side of the radiator and then one of the hoses going into the heater core. I ran a garden hose out and just hooked it up to the heater core hose and let it run through til the liquid ran clear coming out the big one. Then I placed my hand over the big hose a couple times and let it fill up real good. I did the same thing with the radiator itself but made sure to leave it completely empty.
If you have a 5.7 v8 then i believe your total coolant capacity is 16quarts. When you're done flushing the engine out it'll leave you with approximately 8 quarts of water in there. THen when you hook everything up again, refill the radiator with straight coolant. It should take 2 gallons (8quarts) which will give you pretty close to 50/50. From there you can test the coolant to see what temperature you're good to and tweak it from there.
Check it periodically over the next couple days as the air bubbles get worked out. Hopefully this helps, it worked great for me!
