Default How to make a smoother ride?

First, I did not buy my truck thinking I was getting a Lincoln Town Car or a Caddy De'ville and this is my 3rd Chevy Pickup...an '02 4x4 ext cab LT.

But now that it is 3 years old the ride is getting a bit harsh in terms of the shocks; I have about 63,000 miles on it.

Is there anything I can do to upgrade the ride quality?

Would the Rancho shocks I see advertised help?

Or is there some combination of shocks/springs you have personally used and found helpful?

I and the bulk of the Tara Del Sole club use Edelbrock IAS Preformers as well as putting on AirRide Rear air bags. You'd be blown away what 10lbs of air does for a bouncing rear end plus it adds 1000 lbs or additional lift for loaded bed, Plus it will eliminate 75% of the chance or leaf/axle wrap from mashing the pedel. Leaf/Axle wrap from torque will destroy your drive train from driveshft back. The Edelbrocks have a life time warranty.

Hey, just ordered some of those Edelbrock Performer IAS's to replace my blown OEM Bilsteins, anxious to see how they work out for both on and off road. Did quite a bit of research, and I like what I see with the IAS (Similar to platform valve on mountain bike suspension actually).

But, now you've got me just a bit intrigued... about the air-lift. I don't necessarily haul much, except A$$, haha, andmotorcycles, and at the heaviest, some fill dirt and logs for woodburning in the winter... But, about the axle wrap, how do these airbag kits prevent leaf-wrap on hard accel???
Do you do a lot of heavy towing and load hauling, or do you and your fellow club members use these kits for off-roading more?
Fill me in, I'm interested to hear. it's some heavy coin to drop, more than a set of Lakewood traction bars, but I'd still be interested to hear what the deal is.
Thanks, info is appreciated.

So, the air bags help with the ride quality when not loaded?

I just ordered my Edelbrocks from Autoanything. They're a pretty good site, just recently been doing a bit of shopping there. They do the drop-ship thing, direct from manufacture, so shipping is free. Customer service is top notch so far.

I'm also wondering about the hite-rite, or air-ride airbag kits... more interested especially if they can eliminate wheel hop or axle wrap...
But no repliesyet, gotta get some first-hand feedback at least!

I want to make my 99 silverado a much smoother ride. What is the best way to do that? I dont haul or tow or anything like that. Just want to make my truck much nicer to drive.
