I own a 98 z71 silverado and its one bad mamma jamma.. ive been looking into lifting it and throwing some 33's underneath, but dont know much about the damn IFS. Anyone have any expierce with lifting chevys with the IFS?

I have the same and IFS is easy to lift but expensive. you should only need a 3" to clear 33x12.50's easy. I would go to the 4" though, this would make for majority of suspension flex without rubbing too bad. Other than that, the kits are really easy from what I hear. There is also a body lift to consider! They are even easier and I would reccommend the frame guards and bumper re-aligners after to make it look good.

I am not lifted, but I would go with a BDS or Skyjacker lift but there are cheaper ones out there. They tend tobe better looking and seem to have the easy "Do it your self" kits. That and I haven't heard anything wrong with them. The kit will most likely include blocks for the rear and A arm relocators for the front, this shouldn't change the ride quality but it will change the handling. Make sure that if you do a Susp lift that you plan on getting it alligned right after so that you don't mess up your tread!

dont get rough country... i live ten minutes from dyersburg (where they're located) and people around here get lift kits shipped in from all kinds of places because their service is so crappy and their products only last like a year before they break

All the sites keep mentioning the autotrac and if i have it i have to replace the front driveshaft... how do i know if i have it or not? is it the automatic 4x4 button next to the cargo light switch?

Auto 4X4 button activates it. If you have the button, you have autotrac.Don't know why the need to change for sure, but the existing driveshaft probably won't safely extend to the new length if you "unload" the suspension... At 3" of lift the rear shaft is at a shallower angle, and wouldn't need the extra length.
