Default i need help advice

ok so im 19 and need help with my truck my dad said i need to replace the drag link i have a 1989 chevy silverado also even after jumping the truck the battery wont hold a charge apparently and it is a brand new battery the truck wont iven stay running for more than 1 minute after it is started and the cables are off what is going on here, please help tyvm.

well if your dad says the drag link needs replaced then it probably does....as far as the battery issue it sounds like the alternator is bad and you will probably need to trickle charge the battery

Go have hte alternator tested at a parts store, but it sounds like an alternator to me.

alternator guaranteed. get an alternator, jump the truck and drive it around for an hour or so without shutting it off and your good to go. the drag link is part of the steering.

how much would an alternator for the truck run me?
