i need to steal my own spare tire
ok so i replaced my rear bumper because i f'd mine up, not thinking about the keyhole to get to the spare (im told thats what its for)
how would i go about getting the spare tire out?

If I were you I would just open that little cover and drill out that lock thats in there and close the cover back. Nobody would know there wasnt a lock in there as long as the cover stays closed. Another suggestion is wherever you got that bumper from, Find out if they have the key that fits that hole and you can pull it out and put the lock in from your old bumper so you wouldnt need to carry around two keys.

yeah drilling the lock out is the only option i've been able to come up with. i got the other bumper from a salvage yard like 6 months ago so the chances of getting a key are slim. and i have no idea where my old bumper is i recycled it. i just didn't know if i could somehow just take it out

I dont really see anyway of taking it out besides drilling it or possibly even drilling a small hole and get one of those slide hammers for removing dents and pop the thing out. You could always call a locksmith to get the thing out and then get a replacment from the dealership or something.

well im not worried about being able to use the spare i just want to take it out for weight and clearance... i guess ill just call a locksmith and get him to drill the lock out...
