Default I sent GM a nasty letter about my rust problem...

This is what they wrote back to me:

************************************************** ******************************

Thank you for contacting the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. We
appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to the rust
concerns you are having with your 1999 Chevrolet Silverado.

I understand your concerns and I do apologize for the inconvenience you
are experiencing now. As much as I want to assist you on these
concerns, it is recommended to visit one of our certified Chevrolet
dealerships. We would be more than happy to review your concern further. To
Start out, we will need to get the vehicle into a Chevrolet dealership
for an official diagnosis. A diagnosis by a Chevrolet dealership is
required before we can discuss any possible assistance.

You can visit your selling dealership for this issue. I also took the
liberty of locating you the nearest dealership in your area by using
your zip code. The nearest dealership is Castriota Chevrolet Inc.

************************************************** *********************************

Are they seriously going to do something you think?

They want to fix it and charge you or try and sell you a new one.

Probably, but should I bother having them look at it? I mean any justice to the system?

If not I should drive it through the showroom window.

Nah I can't hurt my baby, not her fault GM can't make cab corners last!

Even if I could get some money off the final price, I would be happy tho. Like get an estimate by MY body man, then say "Do it for less than this and you have a deal." But they will probabaly laugh.

F.Y.I. I already have an email from them about soem promotional offer, pft! Um NO!

I hope you guys are right. I mean I did bring up a good point. I lived in the snow belt with my 91 GMC and drove it everyday no matter what the conditions. They used salt on the main roads like it was going out of style. And that was after it sat for three years in the muddy backyard of my uncle's place. AND I used to 4 wheel with it! After all that, it only had blisters on the cab corners which took forever to spread. I went from a quarter sized blister, to four quarter sized blisters and a 1 inch hole in 1 year?!? I baby the damn thing compared to my last truck!

Anyways, I told them this and they replied. I'll give it a shot I guess.

Argon: See thats what I was thinking, but you have to admit it sucks. I mean there are two other guys I work with who have GM trucks, one a 99 Sierra, the other a 2000 Silverado, and they don't have to deal with this sh*t. Have you seen any rotting out yet?
