Default interior lights/cargo light not working

i was driving yesterday and i (tried to) turned my dome light on, and my cargo light on message came up. the dome light didn't come one, and the cargo light wasn't on. after some messing around, this is what's happening:

when i turn on the dome light, overhead map lights, or cargo light, the cargo light message appears, but no lights come on. none of my lights inside work except the gauges.

both interior light fuses are good.

any ideas what the problem might be?

is it possibly the dome override switch? i dont know but i thought it might be worth a shot. often the simplest solution is the right one

then i think this might be a question for argon. i would see if you can follow the wiring diagram and see if there are any loose connections in the vehicle. you said that all the fuses are good, then it has to be wiring somewhere. just follow the diagram, i believe there is one in the manual but if not there is one on the net for sure!

good luck!

dash lights and tail lights both work... the only lights not working are cargo, dome, overhead, the ones in the doors, and the ones under the dash

dude..just a guess...but i'd say your switch is bad...assuming all fuses are good..the bcm COULD be the culprit, but thats a long shot

looking at the schematic...make sure the courtesy fuse underhood is good AND has power thru it...

after that...its either try parts or get it checked out....we need to see if there are any codes in the body pooter...(bcm)

well, the fuse was blown, but a new fuse didn't fix it... how can i check if it has power through it? and can o'reilly or autozone check the bcm or do i need to take it to a dealer?
