Limiting 'jump' on the throttle

Limiting 'jump' on the throttle
I have an '04 with 5.3. The gas appears to be 'fly-by-wire' with no throttle cable. Ok, I don't know if it 'fly by wire' or not, but I know the gas pedal isn't hooked up to the cruise control linkage because the pedal comes back when cruise is set.
My problem is that either the pedal is just too sensitive for the first 1/2 inch or I'm just too used to my old 94 that took a lot of pressure. When I try to take off from a standing stop, the truck 'jumps' a little. It's sort of annoying. Anyone know if there is a way to adjust the pedal sensitivity or to put a stiffer spring into it?
I guess I just like being a lead foot....

RE: Limiting 'jump' on the throttle
I've noticed the same thing on my 03 HD. I'm starting to get used to it. Then if I'm driving a rough road there is some pedal/throttle/rev fluctuation. Like I said, it'll take some getting used to, but I don't really like it.

I looked last night. There's a spring under there that pulls the pedal back up. It looks like a pretty 'normal' spring, so could just get a stiffer one or arc a few of the coils together to tighten it up. Not sure how much of a pain it'll be to get it off though
