Looking for a good used truck?
I’m a Chevy guy and I’m looking for a good used truck to tow project cars to my house and to haul parts and engines around. What would be a good year and model to look for? I found a 57 Chevy stepside truck for $2000 but was told that they are not very good for towing.
Thanks

RE: Looking for a good used truck?
2002. It's close to a one off production. Since I couldn't put down the money Navy Federal wanted for the 2002 WS.6 I started looking for other options in the show lot. They showed me the extreme first but I wanted a V-8. I started on making a silverado, I got the stepside because it's lighter and the door panels are comp also from what I understand I'm close to 3800lbs.
I got the 5 speed manual and the 4.8, I wanted the 5.7 but chevy replied back with No to the dealer, I tried the 5.3 and got back NO, and besides your truck is too far along and already has the 4.8 in it even though the build calender showed I had 2 more weeks to decide. It's the base line model with an upgraded engine, LS dash cd player etc.... and the LT speakers installed in the base line speaker area's. I really wish I got power accesory's though, I ain't tall so I don't have long arms lol! Probably one of the few 24k "Base Model" Silverado's
Well thats a long answer to a short question, you should definatley be able to get atleast a 99-00 model but you may end up having to do a bed swap via junk yard for the step side. There doesn't seem to be alot.
