RE: lowend TQ
Chevy112488 - I would love to have a diesel, but can't afford it. I know they used to make a diesel conversion for late 70s early 80s 350 engines, but they were slow.
gm trucker - I am going to get a custom tune, but don't know how much it will help with torque. Maybe it will help alot. Hey Wheatley - any info on this?

Power programmers will assist. Hypertech is not a sophisticated programmer but it is the cheapest, adds about 10 lb ft. Superchips and Diablo are a bit more expensive but superchips has a program just for towing and Diablo is fully customizable though you may need a Mensa member to figure it out.

Yeah tuning is supposed to help torque a lot but I think smoke20 is looking for physical upgrades that increase torque. I too would rather push torque in my truck. If I wanted to top something out I'd drive my Camaro. Trucks are for pulling.... and the occasional drag strip run.

72charger - You are exactly right. I am not looking for topend, but to get there as fast as possible. Also to be able to dog out a rice burner while towing my boat. (If you look at old posts I beat 2 rice burners whie hauling a load of firewood in the bed.)

LOL! That reminds me of the time I raced my friend in his Expedition with my OZ Lancer. We raced from about 35-40mph to about 75 and we just stayed neck and neck....... that ticked me off royally!! I then realized that rice sucks unless it's turbocharged.
