Shamrock, I did not know that............is the harness big enough to go all the way to the fuse block? thats where the wire got hot.

No it is only a foot or so long. I had to do one on my 1996 Tahoe. I put 2 fuel pumps in it and they both burned up real quick. I called a GM tech friend of mine and he told me about the upgraded harness. I installed that and put another 50K miles on that pump before I sold it.

poor connection and or "soft" ground will cause heat buildup.
