Default Nelson tune MPG

Alright so after beating on it some and then taking it easy or really my normal driving my first tank was 14.7 mpg. which is in line with about what i got during the winter with the hypertech installed (anywhere from 13.5-14.5mpg)

so as long as i keep my foot out of it shouldnt hurt the mpg.

i think next year or when i get the 285's im going to go ahead and get them to remove 85% TM instead of 75%.

if gas either stays relativley the same or hopefully goes down some ( i freakin doubt it though) im might bump up to the 89 octane and see if it feels any different. they said 15-18hp for 87 and 18-24 for 89.

have a good one.

Yeha I know. I tried to PM and post and I get problems too. So did it take a week or 2 before the tune really adapted to the truck? What kind of mileage are you getting? And how much TM did you get? 80% like I seen some one post was recommended?

i cant post more than one or two lines, weird. anyways truck is like night and day. wish i could justify stepping up to 89 and seeing what it would do. i know its only about $4 a tank but that adds up with $500 going to the payment. oh yea, Nelson Rocks.

I don't know 100% what mine was backed off too, but DS said they backed it off as far as it would go without turning it off. I noticed that as soon at it hits about 1,200 rpms or so it has a kick too it and I am off.

I bumped the injector slope up a notch and now I can roll the tires when passing @ 35-45.

I want to run my 93 tune again. I want to see if I can chirp the tire through the gears.

so far got 101.4+- miles on the truck with the needle still slightly above 3/4 tank (6.5gals) so roughly about 15.6mpg second tank so far. normal driving nothing hard or stomping it.
