Default New 2010 Silverado 1500 Air Filter?

Just bought a 2010 Silverado crew cab 4x4 with the 5.3 and want to put a K&N drop in filter in it. Looking for feedback from anyone that is running one on performance, fuel economy, etc. Also do I need to run it for a while and break the motor in or just go ahead and do it?
Thanks in advance.

Default 2010 Air Filter

I have a 2009 and I put the K&N high flow drop in filter in it. I put it in about 5,000 miles ago. I do think it is slightly more responsive, but if there's an impact to fuel economy I haven't seen it. Hey, save your factory filter that way when you clean the K&N you put the original back in for a day or say while the high flow dries off a bit.

Wait and let the motor break in.... then mod the hell out of it.

Yeah motor needs a few thousand miles to break in. By then you will really tell a difference.
