Default New guy here with a couple of questions.

Just bought a 02 Silveraldo with 255K miles on it from a one owner. It's in immaculate condition with just a couple of small problems and joined here because of the knowledge of wealth that is shared.

1. Clunking noise in the steering.
2. Power mirrors don't work and the master power window switches don't light up.
3. Factory CD player works great but most of the buttons don't light up either.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

May be the intermediate shaft gone bad. Very common. I think the power windows do have a relay.

Thanks, I'll check the shaft and on the power windows they work fine it's just the mirrors and the light. I'm thinking that whatever is causing the mirrors not to work it's probably affecting the back light as well...

check your fuses for the mirror... and the clunk is the steering shaft, it's a "known" issue for these trucks they are hit and miss, mostly hit though... they came out with a re-designed one that will solve that prob. but it is not "needed" it's not going to break on you just make that god awful sound. and the lights on the radio are "irreplaceable" you have to replace the whole unit, not worth it in my book. hope this helps.

Thanks. Well the mirror fuse is tied in with the power locks which work so I called the dealer and they keep them in stock. Guy told me they sell at least one a week. And on the radio I have already disassembled it and un-soldered the lights. 10 total, already placed a order with Radio Shack. They have the exact replacements. I'll have to replace the steering shaft because it drives me nuts. I really like this truck...
