What I added was Edelbrock intake, underdrive pulleys, JBA shorty headers, glasspack then dualed out, and a Hyperteck Thermomaster chip with 160 degree T-stat. Around town I averaged 16-a7 MPG and on the Highway I averaged 21 MPG and that was at 75 MPH. Oh and I also had a tonnue cover too. It was a reg cab short bed with 373 gears, 275/ 70 R 15 for tires too. I miss that ruck. I like it better than my 04 GMC Sierra.
all my truck has is a air filter, dont know the brand its not a k&n. some red filter there. true dual exaust, no cats and magna flow mufflers. thats about it. some guy was telling me not to long ago, to chip it out. it might solve my gas and shifting sissues but i didnt know if to belive him or not. alot of people tell u a buch of things and u end up messin everything up. my uncle is a transsmissiong tech but hes been avoiding me that y im here. aksing around.

If you are turning 2000rpm at 60mph maybe your torque converter is not locking up or the tranny is slipping. You should be around 1650 rpm at 60 in OD.

If I had to do the chip all over again I would probably look into a burned chip, but I never complained about my Hypertech either.
