Hey guys

I have a 08 Chevy Silvarodo 4x4 crew cab with about 65 000 km on it and the new tires are in need of being changed.

I am looking for a tire that is good in both mud and snow, and just wanted to hear what your guy's thoughts were on what tires to look and and what ones to stay far way from

BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO

 

Brohnson beat me to it. I like the BFG All-Terrain TA KO 265 70R 17 for winter. They served me well last winter and I think I may get another winter out of them this year too. Not a real hard rubber compound but the wear very well.
I take them off every spring and run Yokohama All Terrain Grapplers in the summer.

 

I like my Cooper Starfire M/S so far. I've had them on for 15,000 miles and I haven't seen any signs of wear. I plowed with it this winter-they never faultered and they cleaned out very well. They're a very quiet road tire and are pretty smooth I think. $500 for all 4 tires mounted (Load Range E)

As far as the BFG's go, while I'm sure they're a good tire, I had them on my Isuzu trooper and I wasn't impressed. They were new tires and got great traction except in sand and ice/snow. The tread pattern doesn't allow for much cleanout so they tend to gum up and turn into racing slicks quickly.. but a lot of people do like them

 

i personally liked the bfg alltearain ta kos
the newer tires are designed to be self cleaning meaning it will fling mud off the tires sidewalls and tread but they arent so great in clay as i figured that out the hardway and got stuck up to my axles in it wasnt fun getting out but i got out after i backed damn near into a pond and went another way
but i did like them they lasted forever on my 88 i had the tires were put on in 10 and when i baught it in 11 they were at 40% as

 

i got the 295 trail grapplers they were just as much as the 285 all terrain bf good****s, so i decided to get more tread and bigger tire for the money they seem to be ok, but for the ride get the all terrain.

 

mine were 265 75 r16s

 

I have General Grabber AT2 on my 08 Sierra. They have an aggressive tread, were awesome in this past year's snow storms here in the Northeast, and were much better in price as compared to the BFG. Yes, the BFG are awesome but very pricey. Im running 265/70/17 E load
