Default New truck *99 silverado 5.3

im going to post pictures....this is about 30 minutes after i got it and after i washed and waxed it.

i will keep updating as i do my upgrades to it

no rust on the frame what so ever..

There's a little on the rocker panel where it ate through but im just going to put muratic acid on it then fill it up with black silicone

where do you get the muratic acid and what does it do

Ugh, please don't go that route. You're killin an old bodyman here lol. Get a quart of POR-15 or one of the many products like it. You will still have the hole but at least you will slow the rust substantially.

I'm with the Dragon.
Something that aggressive can work against ya.
Just cut out, or grind off the bad. and patch the hole.
Paint it with a rust inhibitor like POR-15 and be done with it.
After the paint cures treat the inside of the patch with a rust inhibiting oil spray.

you can get muratic acid at hardware stores and it basically eats the rust and turns it into a primer that you can grind then paint

i want to but i dont have the cash on hand right now..

but at least i caught it early
