Thanks Vegas. We put a new converter in it. That didn't fix it.

Problem solved.

Tranny shop took the tranny apart, found torque converter had a black ring around the case. Testing found the torque converter to no grab the way it should. There were other things wrong in the trany as well. It's rebuilt now and has nice pick up from the line now.

Funny, three tranny guys drove the truck and said they didn't think it was a problem with the trany and blamed then engine. Even the guy that rebuilt it had drove it and said that once.

Where are the experts eh? Where are they? Is this just too old a truck for current mechanics to understand?
