Angry nothing i did today helped with the spitting and sputtering :(

well i jsut got done puttin a new ignition coil on my truck also new plug wires
didnt help whats so ever and while the wires were off i noticed alot of rust on the old plugs so next friday new plugs are goin on
also gonna get the tbi gasket
as i went to my auto parts store and the idiot behind the counter gave me the wrong one as it had been for a ponitac 3.6l v6 and a buick engine thats what the label said it said nothing about the 5.7l v8 chevy 350 so i didnt buy it im almost tempted to order it from lmc as the ydo have the right one just right know im not sure if i wanna spend that kind of money yet as i am still thinkin about droping the tank or cuttin a hole in the bed to get to my fuel pump and clean the screen otu to see if that helps any at all

Default well i need more knowlage on this problem

now i am thinking it is my idle air control valve or mybe even my throttle position sensor also my brother has got me thinking that it maybe the transmision
posibly a shift sensor or soliniod mybe even a dirty injector
im goin to replace the idle air control valve next then the injectors
i am goin to have my dad take a look at it and see what he thinks
i am really hopeing that it is not the transmision
the new wires and coil helped a little it doesnt drop the rpm as low as before
but it still drops
so i am goin to eather clean or replace the injectors in the tbi
then i am going to try to check the trans soliniods
i really hope it dont come to it being a bad trans

also to give some more info on the problem i will drive to my local convinance store which is aproxamtly half a mile from my house it will start to sputter and drop the rmps at the railroad tracks which is about half of tha half a mile then i give it gas it does just fine
then i get to the store put it in park it sputters down and wants to die
also while driving it spits and sputters but if i give it gas and keep it at 2000 rpm or above it does fine
maybe the trans is slipping
i realy hope the trans aint going bad if anyone has a little more knowlage on this problem can you please expand my knowlage as i am reading and looking at everything i can think of on the internet and forums and also looking in my lmc to see parts. to give me an idea of what may be wrong
thanks again

I assume this is the 1994 that you recently purchased? Maybe do a compression test and see if there is a compression problem. I'd do a lot more testing and analyzing before throwing more new parts into a truck of that vintage hoping to fix a problem.

yes daveb i did just by the trucka week ago
when i test drove the truck it was almost on empty and ran really good like there was nothing wrong
so i baught the truck put a full tank of gas in it and it drove 30 miles home just fine
but i will have my buddies dad hook it to obd2 and see if it is trhoughing codes my be the fuel pump relay
as i allready have replaced the temp sensor and wires also put a new coil on
i wont mess with the truck much this week as my dad is back from california for leave from his job

Oil change won't help it run better. A vehicle needs basically 4 things to run properly;fuel, air, compression, and spark at the right moment. You need to find out which of these your truck is lacking. Then you can figure out WHY that is lacking and THEN you can change the right part.
