Default Oil Coolant Line Fitting Leaking

I have a coolant line leaking near the oil filter, but can't seem to get a wrench in there to replace the fitting. There seems to be what looks like some sort of engine/transmission bracket blocking my way. Is it safe to temporarily take out the bracket so I can replace the fitting?

That depends on what exactly it is connected to. Chances are your safe. If your in doubt, put a jack under the truck and give that area a little support. I have no clue what the bracket looks like, but I highly doubt that anything is going to fall on you.

Also, when you put a new fitting on it (if possible) wrap the threads in some plumbing tape.
