Paint Fade?

Default Paint Fade?

My truck seems to have a bunch of spots where it looks faded (i will include pics)

Does anyone know how to restore these back to the shiny black is should be?

Repaint unfortunately. That fading you see is caused by UV effects on the clearcoat. It's the beginning stage and will eventually lift and peel, leaving the basecoat exposed underneath.

no....i dont want to mess with it but its smooth as can be

im guessing you have the same problem?

but there is this thing at a pepboys called black restore and its supposed to restore faded black to a nice shiny blacker black so my truck looks black.


did i say black enough? lol

I was gonna suggest trying Nu Finish
It restores Oxidized and UV damaged finishes.

Use a prewax cleaner or a liquid oxidation remover to remove oxidation.

i will definitely look into that...


now the only thing i have done to the whole truck is wax it. will that affect anything?

NO, Just waxing it should effect the truck's finish. I can't help but wonder why it went like that.... Do you thing the previous own spilled something on the truck??? It looks so uneven

did you mean shouldnt? i used meg's liquid wax when i first got it. and im not really sure because the guy i got it from was a cubicle business man

and these spots are on random spots but only on the bed and tailgate

it gets darker when wet
