RE: power programmer help
umm what i did (i have a 2002 1500) i changed the rev limiter to 6200 and then put every shift point +500 that way you create more horsepower... cause the programmer really doesnt give you more horsepower it just creates more because it lets you mess with your redline... but i mean that is me

RE: power programmer help
Unless I am wrong, the RdLine is 6k and the Valve Float point is 5900. I have used both the Hypertec and now use the Predator. If your wise and caring, don't mess with first gear more than 1mph+, 2nd +2, 3rd +3. I have an 00/71 and my 2nd gear hits 91mph @ 5700, trap speed for a stock 2wd Silverado in the 1/4ml and I am just hitting the 1/8th mrk. I as stated have a 4wd and I eat Ford Lightnings all day long, pustang GTs as well. I am not trying to sound puffy but I just use my Predator which I bought used off Ebay to clear codes. I have a reproge'D PCM. Just be cool with your handheld. You will tear up the CHEAP fastburn heads GM puts on the Silverado. Expect to replace them if you rip it up by 50-60k. You will start hearing them clicking at abouut 30k. Add the Power upgrade, firm your shift points but know that by doing this, you are going to put massive strain on the Sun Gear in your tranny. A FLAW that GM has refused to fix since 1999. If you want to know more about your Sun gear issues that you WILL have to deal with, call a Rep TrannyShop and ask them about this flaw; you GM dlrshp will lie to you about it. AAMCO will and can fix it before you dump your tranny for about $800. Never put your Redline past 5900 and try to make all shifts happen between 5300-5700 where your handheld modified torque curve ends. Valve float will eat your engine like now. Just for an example; when an F1 driver misses a shift, what happens... K-FN-Bloom. Same deal here.
