Default POWER STEERING PROBLEM, 08 Silverado

Anyone hearing of hydraulic issues in the rack of these units? Dealer installed a new pwr steering unit, but that didn't fix it. Taking it back again tomorrow, feels like no power assist, really back after full deflection of the wheel and coming back.

I haven't heard of anything. Let us know what they find.
Good luck.

Hopefully you just got a bad one and it's not a widespread thing. Glad they're fixing it for you. Keep us informed.

Got the truck back, it needed a new rack. I am very happy with my dealership, Crosstown, too bad they would not listen the first time I took it in. It turned to be exactly what I told them it was, and it cost GM a pwr steering pump for nothing.

Get under the dash and unplug the gray plastic ring on the steering column. It's the power steering speed sensor. By unplugging it, it will give you full power steering all the time. Basically it will feel touchy at high speeds but no more intermittent jerking
