problems with a gm reflash!!!!

Default problems with a gm reflash!!!!

i took my truck in 2 weeks ago to get some the heater fixed and now the truck just does not run right and when i tried to reprogram the computer the thing said the vin and the operating program dont match what gives any ideas?

did you set the truck back to stock settings with your programmer before you took it to the shop?? there diagnostic machine could have messed up your programming.....just a thought.

did you tell them you had a custom flash?..if not,its probably gone

Rule of thumb, remove programming before taking it too the dealer so they don't mess it up. What kind of programmer do you have? A Hypertech and a Predator will store the factory settings and can be placed back onto the PCM.

It said the VIN and the operating program don't match? I wondered if the tech who was working on it screwed something up while he had it and swapped ECU's on you without saying anything. I'd call them up and ask them to recount exactly what they did and tell them about the problems your having.

Either that or the reflash made it so the programmer/scanner didn't recognize the PCM, it might have unmarried the programmer/scanner and the PCM.
